trying to make tail grow in snake

I am trying to make snake

i keep getting the variable has no value error

well, i like tried for like 4 hours changing it, but i still couldnt get it to work

the only way i could get it to work is by using an if statement like if chars ('g') then

y (i) := y (i - 1)
end if or using an if statement with mouse buttons
