Anyone any good with fractals? I'm looking for some help implimenting the diamond square algorithm.

is it similar to the siepinski triangle?

It's for generating heightmaps that are wrappable on both the north/south ends and the east/west ends. It's used for terrain engines, but I'm going to use it to make random maps for my civilization clone. I found a tutorial but I haven't looked at it yet: www.gameprogrammer.com/fractal.html

I think I can get it now.
