One of my friends laptop crashed suddenly and the kill screen appeared. We restarted the laptop a couple of time and it didn't work out, the kill screen still there. We also tried to log in the computer using safe mode but it didn't work out. I was wondering if anyone can help ?

Define "kill screen" and explain what sort of laptop your friend has (Manufacturer, OS, hardware config, etc.)

The laptop is dell and it runs on windows vista. The kill screen was blue and from what i read the effected file is with the directory
C\windows\system32\kling.

well, there's a million things it could be, so we can't really help you without seeing it, I recommend taking it in to tech support at Staples, they know what they're doing.

Do you have a windows install disk?
If you do, then boot it up. There should be an option to "repair install" that should help you out.

Also there is sometimes a hidden partition on the hdd that has a repair mode. (Don't know if dell does this or not)
