Alrighty, where to begin. Isn't Turing an intuitive, easy to use language, perfect for beginners? Well maybe that's why the companies bankrupt. I downloaded Turing so I can work on projects at home and well this certainly is messed up. I/0 questions (such as the DWITE's) are impossible, the filename is SPECIFIED and in the RIGHT FOLDER and Turing can't find it. My 3 year old sister can find it, yet Turing can't. Hmm. Next, whenever a Music.PlayFile or similar command is used, Turing also can't detect MUSIC, how helpful! the music is a 20 second long .mp3 file, specified correctly. Don't even get me started on pointers and .tu files, it can't find those either. Also, this is the best part, the Help index (F10) is crashed!. So now I have to ask, WHAT CAN TURING FIND?! It initially downloads to my desktop, doesn't work. I move it into the Program files, works, but all the errors listed above occur. Can't wait till I learn more Java and C++ so I can finally ditch this useless language |

1) this is entirely not the right section for this.
2)Turing is by far not the best language out there, but it is useful for teaching beginners, and it is by far one of the easiest to use. Chances are if you can't do something in Turing, you will have a snowballs chance in hell with other languages.
3)Don't complain about the number of errors Turing throws. One line of Code in Java has been known to throw dozens of errors.
4) most of your errors sound like a faulty install, and you really can't blame the language for a faulty install.
Turing is by no means perfect, but it still has it's applications. It is good for teaching basic programming concepts to beginners. if you want a practical language, by all means jump straight into Java/C++. if you want to learn the basics, Turing will help you. |

4.1.1 is bad. It can't compile. Get 4.1.0. Same functionality with a working compiler.
It looks like you just have a problem with files.
I have 4.1 installed via copy/paste. No problems at all. Did you download the installer or the files? Try the installer if you haven't. |
