Just a quick question can you delete text files? or any files because it's probably the same way? I know opening them with put then closing them erases the contents but is there a way to delete them?

Look into File.Delete().

couldn't you then delete the boot.ini in the C drive and then power down the computer for a mega-evil virus? I would never do that, but someone in the GAMEIDEAS thread came up with it, and you just added the last piece of the puzzle . . .
I am on no account responsible if you use this virus idea.

first of all it's not even close to a "virus", just malware.

second -- don't let your applications (especially untrusted applications) run with administrator privileges. That might mean using an operating system that is anything but Windows.
