PostPosted: Tue May 20, 2003 4:13 pm   Post subject: Texture

Knowing turings speed (lack thereof) i decided to see how slow some simulated textures would run (not real textures) If i used real textures it might run a bit faster but i dont have the time to do that...

Back to the point this is a textured 3d cube

note: if it seems slow on ur machine, that b/c it is (i only get 2fps)
note2: dont change the tex image, i hardcoded some values in for speed
and it might crash i use use a diff pic

I'm getting 1 FPS. And this is some crazy stuff... I dont even know how much bits I should award... this takes some madd skillz to texture 3D objects in turing.

I'm gonna give you +30Bits and let other mods give you more if they want to.

are you loading a pic in truing then using the whatdotcolor to store the color per pixeal in an array. with this info are you then making the 3d object with then samw color per pixal pattern as sotred in the array?

this is really a pueso-texture
all it is a collection of 3d particles initialized to the pics coors and color

hey, give me a bottle of liquid nitrogen, and I'm gonna overclock my celeron to run twice as fast as your AMD Asok Twisted Evil
