i made a large amount of my code for a program in windows. i then converted my computer to linux and got turing running on it. the problem im having though is that although im using the same default font (courier 12) as i had used in windows... for some reason, the output of the font is a little different and this affects the location of text within my program. any ideas why? |

I'm glad that you decided to switch to Linux! It is awesome! With regards to your problem, I've had a similar problem when I got Turing running on Linux as well. As you mentioned, the output of the font was a little different and affected the location of the text within the program. What I did to fix the problem was simply change the font to "courier 10." It worked for me and I hope I helped you. I'm not too sure what your problem is exactly but just let me know if you still have a problem or if I may have misinterpreted the problem.
Good luck! |

I'm assuming you're using WINE for this. Just a thought, maybe your fonts are messed up? I'm pretty sure WINE has it's own library of fonts, maybe therein lies the problem. Try getting the Curier fonts from your Windows CD and replacing the ones WINE put in its virtual folder. |
