Help with Assignment!

Hey, howz it going guys. I'm pretty new to turing and don't know alot, thats why I need to ask you guys for some help.

Ok. For our project, we have to make a menu with a passage of writing, uiz, and exit. That's all done, but the thing is that we need to include graphics.

This is what I want to do:
I want to have a good happy face with a hat saying "Welcome to My Quiz" in the bubbles(like comic books). Then I want it to go to my menu screen with a sort of fancy menu after a delay.

Any ideas on how to do the first part and make a fancy menu screen???

For the first part, I suggest using pictures. .jpg or .bmp, that is.
When you say menu, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean a drop down menu (like File, Edit, View, etc. on many Windows programs), or a menu such as the first part of a video game where you can select game modes, options, etc.
