Hello everyone,
Judging from my 40 minutes spent looking around the sight, I think it's safe and unfortunate to say this question will be highly frowned upon. heh. Here goes:
Like others here, I have been given an ISU that has a due date some time around the end of the month. For those unfamiliar with an ISU (Independent Study Unit) it is a final project or presentation that is worth a large chunk of my final mark. Sort of like a precursor to a final exam. Anyway, throughout the semester, I have been juggling a day job at a pub and highschool; trying to keep my grades up and whatnot. Unfortunatley I was unable to attend a large portion of my computer programming class for the semester due to my job (that and I spent most of the time reading Dawkins books. I suppose you can chalk it up to a bit of laziness on my part!)
In honesty, I don't have a strong interest in computer programming. My bag is art, evolutionary biology, and mathematics. I was sort of stuck with this class because the religion class I wanted to take was full. This class and my philosophy class are the very last credits I need and then I will finally be finished highschool.
So, enough of my sob-story, here's the root of my plee:
I have to make some kind of game or presentation using Turing. Since my knowledge with Turing is less than limited, I ask that I could recieve help in making something for the ISU. When I say "help" I suppose that is a bit of an understatement.
I checked out the programs some of the people here have posted for the public. Ironically enough those programs are TOO good to seem like something I could create. Heh.
If you could help me out, I would be glad to send a money order in gratuity.
If you are interested maybe drop me a pm and we can talk further about this. Hopefully this wasn't too large a faux pas here to be overlooked.
Thank you very much |

You seem like a nice and smart person, but, regardless of how kindly you ask or how desperate your plea, we cannot do your ISU for you. If we did, it would just be a bad life lesson: you cannot get into the habit of expecting people to do your work for you.
That said, if you want to pass the course, I suggest you read through some of the tutorials and try to get a handle on Turing. If you want to try to cram programming into your brain before the ISU deadline, let us know, and we will be only too glad to help you. (If you want to, tell us how far you are into Turing).
Also, though your subject is indeed quite witty, it does not tell us about your question. Post a descriptive subject
Best of Luck

Understandable Cervantes. I suppose you'll have to take my word for it, but I don't plan on getting into the habit of expecting people to do my things for me. I've busted my ass the greater portion of my life. Regardless, as I implied, I understand why I won't be served a not-so-top-notch turing program on a silver platter. And although I could just cram and try to throw a jalopy of a program together, I really don't have the time what with my busy schedule, but that's probably my fault anyway. Live and learn, I suppose.
Thanks anyway for at least reading my plee.
If I do find the time, it's good to know I'll have assistance.
Thank you. |

8) hmm... I think that we can help each other out. You are in depserate need of help/assistance and I am in desperate need of a couple of bucks . Throughout the semester, I have made a few programs on the side, you know just out of interest, and very few people have seen them. I have pong, snake, mortal kombat (which kicks ass), a math program, tax program, miniture soccer game, space invaders, etc, etc, etc. So if you want, we can make an exchange, just give me the signal
P.S. I'm not sure if I'm violating any rules by doin this... but if I am, my appologie: we'll just have to take this conversation elsewhere |
