Can I use PNG image files in turing? I have this one pi that is PNG and I have never even seen that image type before so my other question is what is a PNG image file anyways?

No, "not at this time" (Turing error msg).

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) are similar to GIF (Graphics Interchange Format), but don't have those LZW compression algorithms copyright restrictions...

Not great quality (sometimes), but great for websites due to their small size.

Turing: stick to BMP and JPG...

yes, and to easily change from png to jpg or bmp (not great colors), you could use irfanview, small download and great conversions
