Program 'lags' from one screen to another.

What is it you are trying to achieve?
For school, I need to make a tutorial program on any subject. This is what I have so far.

What is the problem you are having?
The issue I encounter is that from one screen to the next, there is lag. For instance, when you press the enter button, you can only see the next screen if you minimize and then un-minimize the program.

I have no idea how to fix this, so I came here for help.
