Help, Midi Won't Play Unless Media Player Running

That about says it all, I've done Music in the past. I had my program running and opened another file with Media Player and you can hear both playing, shut it off music quits. It's a midi file in a process I'm trying. I tried an (wow I just realized you have to use 'an' not 'a' before MP3, I thought that was only for vowels ) MP3 and it worked. Also I'm using 4.0.3, but like I said I've done it the exact same way in the past.

4.0.3 won't support any other way other than using a process which is very inconsistent.
