Hey I have a mouse designed for a little toy laptop that came with a mouse with a ethernet end on it. I was wondering if I could make a program to use this devise as a mouse? It camefrom an Oregon Scientific machine. |

No, you can't.
My guess is that it's really a PS/2 mouse, just with a different connector on it...some companies like to do this....I'm assuming they preferred the rj45 connector because of its clip (PS/2's can come loose)
Your network card doesn't know anything about mice (the on board chips on the NIC aren't designed to work with mice) |
