If you did Turing a while ago you should probably move on to a different language.
Aside from that I didn't feel 4.1 offered much over 4.05. Some goofy graphics effects and Gif support, they also dropped takepic/drawpic with the last "upgrade" |

The last update, as mentioned, was really nothing more then cosmetic. A little more usage for sprites and graphics, and the introduction of .gif now that the patent or copyright or whatever it was, expired. Only upgrade if you want those, otherwise 4.0.5 is fine.
Also, there is nothing wrong with using Turing. Learning turing, especially OOT, can really help when learning new languages. Although moving from Turing to pretty much any other language (not all) is fairly crippling in terms of graphics, since you get used to how little really needs to be done. (Double Buffering and Rendering seem to scare people when the jump ship from Turing to the bold world of 'development' languages (ie, faster for games). At least it scared my friends).
But thats neither here nor there. 4.0.5 is fine. 4.1 isn't necessary. |
