I was wondering how I set a background with .bmp files?

That would simply involve Pic.Draw'ing a .bmp file that's as large as your background (you could use Pic.Scale if you need to scale it).

You'll also need to know about Pic.FileNew to load the picture in the first place. The Turing help manual has all this information.
