|
|
In light of the new school year, i think we might get some of these questions so:
No, we can't do your homework for you so don't ask. You won't learn anything from us doing it and what good is that? We don't care if your teacher is going to fail you if you don't get it done, that's your fault not ours. However, this is [Turing Help] so we will help you with things that you are having trouble with if you need it. When you are posting with a question make sure to post:
- A detailed description of your problem
- Things you have done to remedy the problem
- Your code that pertains to the problem
- A list of what you think may be causing the problem
With that, ask to your hearts content, however, we do have a search function located at the top of the page, if your search turns up no results then post your question following the guidelines above. |

I think it's probably pointless to post this as the people who want someone to do their homework for them don't read the forums before posting anyways. |

Yeah, but then this is in the rules as well. You might as well just link to that.
Me thinks you just want a stickied post. |

you thinks wrong, its just frustrating to have to deal with those kind of questions, this way, you can pinpoint the rule with a direct link, without saying "its in [The Rules]", that brings up questions like where, how come i didnt know that, this way is just easier |

Well they may not read the rules but if this were stickied I think they'd notice a big "NO! We Can't Do Your Homework For You!" at the top of the page. And even if they didn't they'd feel pretty dumb admiting so. |

What makes you think they'd notice a "NO! We Can't Do Your Homework For You!" more than a "GAME IDEAS" or a "Please do NOT post 'I need help' titles"?
They should be following all the rules, and as such, they should be informed of them (by reading or at least skimming the entire rules). |

Well I noticed it as sson as I opened up the help today. But then again that could be my natural skipping of the stickies to see what was last posted in. But I mean a new person will probabbly read the first few topics first thing, that would mean readin the title so that even if they don't read the post they atleast know that we can't do theire homework. Ofcourse I'm just guessing because I really can't garuntee it would happn like that. I was just saying the potential good it could do. |

In some occassions, you might be right, but the sad truth is that most people coming to Turing Help don't read anything before posting their 'question'. Really. |

I know, but there's nothing we can really do to stop those people. I was just saying that this would stop some, and might be worth it. i really don't know, I'm just saying don't atomatically say it's useless. |
