I want to post some of my programs, but they have some pictures or sounds that I took from other sources...is this OK?? Or is it illegal?

If thos sorces are public domain (meaning that the creator gave up right to them and they are free to the public) or you have agrement from the creator then it is ok to post them here.

For the most part we are consred about peoleop stealing code and then saying it is theres. For images and such, it is more of an issue of being sued tho it whould not be compsci.ca who whould be sued but the user posting the copy righted mataerals.

In any case it is unlikey that you whould get in any truble from posting such things (espatly if u gave them credit some where) but officaly i most say "that if it is copyrighted and u do not have perssmions u may not post it" to procted my own ass. If you where to any how that whould be bettween you and the copy right holder.

As long as you're not posting .mp3's of copyright work, and you're giving credit to your sources you should be okay.

Generally, nobody cares unless you're
A) making a profit on your program, in which case you should be paying royalties
B) competing with or reducing the potential profits of the holders of the material you're using
