heh Dan, everybody knows that if it isn't rap, then it's old school
actually this poll should be changed to have a single option of "songs about sex" because almost every song at least subtally hints on the topic. I'm serious, especially Disney songs that Brenda plays. Weird. |

"Music these days" is crap, in my opinion.
At the moment, I'm really into Quicksilver Messenger Service. |

Personally I've been getting more into pop-ish, pointless-yet-really-easy-to-tap-your-feet-to rock, as-of-late (pardon all the dashes). Mainly: OK GO, Franz Ferdinand, The Walkmen, Canoe, Oasis, Gorillaz, etc. |

Anything owns rap (expect beats, but those are different), and has more meaning.
Above all stand rock and metal (any kind, I hate the assumption that it is all "heavy"). Old school 4 teh w1n!11! |

It irks me when people refer to Heavy Metal as Rock. Now, if one were to refer to Heavy Metal as Rock N' Roll, well, they're just ignorant.
MysticVegeta, what bands are you referring to by Heavy Metal? I semi put ACDC and a good portion of Led Zepplin's stuff in that category. |

Personally... /\
I occasionally listen to classical music, and I like it, especially compared to things like rap, but I prefer the above mentioned music. Not saying it isn't "genious", just not my preference.

You've got it wrong then, and it's not purely based on personal views. You are saying that you dislike it when people call heavy metal, rock - I agree. Yet you are clearly doing this yourself since the mentioned bands are rock bands, not heavy metal. You want heavy metal? You should compare Zepplin to Cryptopsy or anything like that (I forget exact names). What is ignorant then? |
