I'd feel very secure. Because they pretty much have a guaranteed source of income. e.g.: Less likely to be laid off due to down-sizing.

Like Tony just said, I wouldn't be working for any one company for more than 3 years tops, especially now that I don't have a specific career, or graduated in anything from University (yet). If Microsoft files for bankruptcy, it's not going to be in the next 5 years. Just due to its sheer size, would mean that it could keep chugging with negative income for a lot of years before running out of money. And even so, no sane corporate CEO's/owners/boards/whatever would let the company lose that much money, for that amount of time. You gotta remember. People don't usually go for the best product, they go for what they think looks the best, unfortunately.

The problem for Microsoft is that it really is a mose of cards. They have a lot of cash on hand, but a lot of their financial mass is tied up in stock. If they start to slip at all, their losses could rapidly snowball out of control.

Stock markets are about 99% perception.
