What error(s) is your broswer reporting? Timeout, dns error, bad gateway, ect.

So your browser wont allow you to connect to say, google, but you can ping and trace route to it?

I do not know why i am trying to help since u are ushely so rude about asking on msn but here we go:

This problem can be caused by a few reasons, the big one that i have run in to is when using a wifi network card. So it whould help to know a few things like what os and if xp SP1 or SP2, what kind of network conection u are using, dial up, lan, wifi, ect and what u did b4 this started hapening. I whould also be intrested in know if the domain names of sites are being resloved proporly (ie. can u get to sites if u put in the ip of the site and not if u put in the name) and if u are using a router or any kind.

Hmm, kind of an interesting problem. All connection work except http.

Your still going to need to give more info though.
What id like you to do is, go onto another computer on your LAN and see if it happens to that one also (if for some odd reason your running a 1 pc lan, go grab a linux boot cd and use that).

Also run HouseCall and report the results.

AND while your at it you could always paste your running process list (preferably done with hijackthis , and after the connection start timing out).

Are you sure it's not the same problem as this?. This problem is affecting thousands of people, and there's really not much you can do about it until the legalities get sorted out Sad

Some things to try:

1. conect with out router
2. trun of windows fire walls
3. try difrent boxs on same network
4. turn off router firewall
5. try difrent network card
6. make shure nothing is overheating, router, cable box, network card, computer, ect.
7. check if u are using any proxys if so turn them off if not try using some

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), that issue has been resolved. Level 3 caved. It was also only affecting some websites, particularly ones ending in .org.

Have you tried contacting Rogers?
If you get the same problem with a different computer, then it probably has something to do with your ISP.

You could try running a traceroute from your computer to some of the sites that are running slowly to determine whether it's your connection that's laggy or whether it is some point in-between.

If it turns out to be your computer, it probably wouldn't hurt to make sure your software (Windows / drivers / nic/router firmware) are all fully updated.

Also wouldn't hurt to run some system / registry maintenance, in case there's a mysterious error in your settings or registry.
