the pictures are the unreal 3 engine, which isnt being realeased for a while |

omfg.... i wish i had my good video card like downstairs...
cuz upstaiors i can ony do tru color at 800x600 res.... downstairs comp has video card that can do 24 bit color at all rez.s cuz those pictures looked like shity quality..
but DAM... i read some of it... sound amazing.. and even with onyl 16bit color ... dam that looked good.. |

Theres more texture mapping on one monster in the Unreal 3 engine, then an entire level in the original Unreal, think about it.... |

blitz basic wouldnt be able to do that
ud need to use openGL or directx (i beleive they used directx)
so u could use any language with ogl or dx bindings (support), but the engine there is definately c++
even with those ud need to have a gfx card with pixel shaders (radeon 9500 and up) |

holy crap! that kills opengl. they went nuts with directx 9 i wonder if the running speed is good. |

im fairly sure that same thing could be done with ogl
apparently the only card that can run that at a fps of over 1-2 is the new geforce 6800 |

its not bad.. can still improve.. i mean i haven't yet seen something to the extent of merging reality with the game world. i mean super ultra realistic.
this one as some pretty cool shadowing though. and nice job on lighting.
i guess they firstly need to work on better texture effects. it all looks plastic. |

nope, since it set for a 2006 release i think the cards will be up to spec by then |
