I am on WinXP with mcafee virusscan+zone alarm... but i heard there are some compatibility issues and i am experiencing major performance issues (which may or may not due to these software)... but i have formatted my harddrive less than one week ago!!!
anyone have a better recommendation for virusscan+firewall? |

Try using AVG, it's free and it works pretty good and there is no problem with ZoneAlarm and it (at least in my experiences).
I know there is a program on the net somewhere that will check your RAM to see that it is ok, but I forget the name of it. You might want to search for that. There is a link to that program from the website of "Shadow's Experimental Bittorrent Client" so just check there. |

whenever i experience slow downs on my computer, i check for spyware and that almost always clears things up... as for a VS proggy i also use AVG... try using ad-aware by lava soft for spyware... it catches stuff that avg doesnt

Norton never deleted the viruses that it found for some reason so that's why I switched to AVG because a lot of people here said it was good. |

AVG all the way.... and zonealarm works good.... yes it does FUk with my MSN sometimes.... but... thats why i turn if off.... ***i only have firewall running when i on some explicit site or stuff like dat....
meh...
i had norton but it takes WAY to much system resources... and its so SLOW cuz it scans EVERYTHING.... **not saying a good scan... but scanning everything,...
anways...
ad-aware works good... AVg... and zonelabs...
although... why i didn;t get the full version of zonealarm yet is beyond me... maybe i should go find the serail... |
