anyone know what to do with them, once you have them downloaded, can you make them .exe files or what?

No, torrent files are used with bit torrent. I'm going to assume you have bit torrent already but if you don't... well.

Make sure that you have the torrent files associated with btdownloadgui.exe:
-open a folder
-go to tools
-folder options
-file types
Scroll all the way down to torrent and make sure that it is set to open using btdownloadgui.exe, and then...

id just use kazaa or shareaza or kaza lite because i have always found bit torrent really slow, and not too many people leave it open.

dude , kazaa is alot more insecure , and you can reach 400 kb/s no problem biturrent , but nothing beats newsgroups , because the data is coming directly from your isp so you get maximum through put all the time ALWAYS
