PostPosted: Sun Jan 25, 2004 11:13 pm   Post subject: slow loading ads

well as some may have notcied i have added an ad to the site in the footer. this is an effor to rase some money to get compsci.ca even better host and such. i have notcied that it tends to take some time to load, but it is not intrefining with the loading of the acual site.

dont have to click on it sice it is pay for view, just let it site down there and hopfully give us some money to get a faster host.

if you notcie the ad doing any evil things like pop-ups tell me, it should not tho but u never know with thess evil ad poleop.

It is indeed annoying, as when you go to post, it "clicks" when it finishes loading, and you gotta click in textbox again to post. And my browser "jumped" once.

if you guys made 11 cents that day , i have no problem having an add , id rather see you guys get some coin and have a pop up now an them or have it appear at hte bottom of the screen when it loads , its all about the greater common good , suffer now , enjoy later

yeah, i wouldn't mind pop-ups, look at sosmath.com, they have pop-ups everywhere, but their forum is still very much active. I'm sure we wouldn't mind if Dan made some money from ads, it's compensation for dealing with all those spammers and fixing the bugs and whatnot.

well i whould never put pop ups on the site b/c i think they a evil.

if i find an add that dose not slow down the site i may put it in the footer or somting. but for now it looks like it will be add free and i will just hope we dont go over banwith limits. so far compsci.ca has used 8796.43 Megabytes this month alone.
