Is there an emulator or a way to program an iPhone App without actually having to use an iMac computer?

I browsed around a bit but couldn't pull up enough information to even define a yes/no answer for myself.

Thanks.

I thought there was a way because on my old laptop I had downloaded the SDK for at least Android and Blackberry apps, but not sure if I got iPhone as well or not. It should be possible, but then again Apple seems to have this thing about not being compatible with anything so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't

If you want to go that route (or any sort of dual boot of OSX), check out http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/

If you just want it on the iPhone (main focus is not on learning obj-c) then you can also try programming in a different language using a framework and then port it over
although the quality/performance of the port may be questionable (not really sure on this one)
Dunno exactly how they work but some examples include marmalade and phonegap

You can use Vmware however you need a x64 system, Ive already tried and reseached this for the app Im developing and tried vmware with my x86 system, I looked at other IDE's that work for windows to illigally be used to make apps for mac, but in the end, it would be more wise just to make an app for andriod since its market is estimated to pass apple in later years to come anyways. Plus apple if you want to just use there market you have to pay a 100$ yearly fee and give 30% of profits, where I believe for android you can use there market free and aswell only surrender 30% of the profits

Why would your app make more money atm on apple rather then android? Mostly I believe is because people are willing to spend soo much money on an Iphone that they are more willing to spend the 99cents for an app compaired to people with cheaper android phones.

You're welcome to also use a Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Xserve, or Mac Pro.

You can also use VirtualBox, or, if you have an Intel-based 64-bit machine, try and create a Hackintosh.

From Bell Canada, Apple iPhone retails for $649.95 CAD. Samsung Galaxy Note retails for $729.95 CAD. Samsung Galaxy SII $599.95. LG Optimus 4G LTE $629.95. HTC Raider 4G LTE $599.95.

They aren't all "cheaper". When you say "Cheaper Android Phones", you mean the bottom of the line models that people who don't need the fastest mobile processor or biggest screen get. The high end Android devices rival if not exceed the iPhone and the a fair number of the users don't spend money on apps because they know better. They instead use a little known tool called "Google", and download the package. Majority of Apple users are unable to do this without "Jail breaking" their phone, which voids Apples warranty.

Also, unlike Apple, Samsung and other android manufactures offer choices! *GASP*! We aren't stuck picking between 2 colors and 3 sizes. We can choose things like Larger screens and smaller screens, Single or Dual core processors, HDMI outputs. Android users aren't the sheep that iPhone users are. We don't blindly follow only one path.
