Decision to study computer science

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to figure out what I want to study at university for quite some time now. I've been debating between electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science. After a lot of thought, I think I will study computer science at Dalhousie University!

While I really like electronics and find hardware very interesting, I think my real love in computer science. I've been using computers since I was around 5 years old, and began learning C++ when I was 10. Since then I've always loved programming and my room is littered with programming textbooks, as well as textbooks about software engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics, and operating systems.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do after my education. I'm quite sure I'm going to get an honors degree with co op though. I'm also thinking of doing the artificial intelligence specialization that is available at Dalhousie! I think it would be interesting to go to graduate school and even get a PhD in computer science and become a researcher. Or I might just become a software developer. Either way, I think I'm going to have a great time at university!

I'm not actually asking any questions, I just posted this to share my thoughts!

If your interested in Artificial Intelligence you should definitely read Godel, Escher, Bach; you'd really enjoy it.

I just read a bit about the book, it sounds very interesting. I'll have to get a copy of it sometime.

I'm in my first year at Dal right now, the profs there are really nice and helpful and they have many different classes to choose from. You guys will have a great time.

It's really cool you guys are going to Dal, it seemed to me like everyone on this site was from Ontario! I can't wait to go there!
