I could study Discrete maths in the 1st semester but it looks sosososo hard!!!!! I also have to study other scary compulsory maths courses, I am so worrieddddd Neutral

Q: Defer Discrete maths till next year or next semester or Do it and get a fail or pass it if lucky?

Q: Should I do Physics or Chemistry as my electives? which is more useful? and which is less likely for me to fail? Confused

I am already enrolled in DM...and the programming is also a nightmare waiting... Twisted Evil

Discrete math is a lot of fun and very relevant to compsci, so I definitely recommend it. It's also a pre-requisite for a few 2nd year classes.

I recommend physics over chem. It's directly applicable to games and other things. I'm sure chem applies too, but I never took it so I can't judge. If it is, it's probably not as obvious as physics is.

If your good at math, physics is easy to do, it's just applied math. And the formulas you learn definitely apply to video games as insectoid mentioned.

Chemistry tends to be a lot harder, as it requires a lot more memorization (the formulas used in physics can pretty much all be derived from one another).

Pff, Chemistry is just applied Physics.
