No, don't bother sending it to Dan. Send it to DanShadow! DanShadow is Dan's alter-ego (ie, another account that belongs to Dan) which deals specifically with the shadow effect available for purchase in the compsci.ca shop.

It might just be the browser he's using. I'm on Mozilla Firebird and the only name effects I see are the colours, so there's no glow, no shadow, and no whatever-else-there-is. |
