In the beginning of the semester I went to Florida for a one week vacation. During a beach visit my fuji HS10 got splashed with SALT water:( I was told that the mobo had been damaged and it had to be sent back to fuji for repairs (turns out they needed to replace the mobo) a month and a half later and $225 lighter I get my camera back.....with the wrong firmware.....joy.
At the store it appeared to be working correctly but when I got it home I noticed that some of the menu icons appeared as [?] and were not working. No biggie probably just old Firmware. So I downloaded the update and went to update the Firmware, at the firmware upgrade screen the version is specified as
VERSION : V4A1 - 70
(according to the internet....it doesn't exist. )
on this screen there should be the option to update, but I just have OK and CANCEL when OK is pressed, the screen goes blank and a red box with a white ? appears. (yet again nothing on the net about this.)
I have Googled extensively and searched all of fuji's help section and nothing. Tomorrow I am taking the camera back to the store and going to tell them to send it back but between now and tomorrow, if anyone has any ideas how to put the right firmware on the camera that would be great...considering the traditional method isn't working.
p.s.
do you think it could be the wrong MOBO? |
