I'm currently in my 2B term in CS at Waterloo. I'm trying to figure out what upper year courses to take and I was wondering if anyone knew of any resources that described/reviewed the upper year courses at UW. I don't mean something like the UGrad Calander but reviews from people who have actually taken the course.
I mean, for example, the course description of CS 452 Real-Time Programming course makes it seems pretty standard, nothing too special. But apparently it's considered one of the most difficult and time-consuming courses in the CS faculty.
So does anyone know of any resources like that? Anyone who's in upper year CS want to talk about their experiences? Anything would be helpful right now.
Thanks. |

Well, there are information sessions on upper-year CS courses where the profs pimp their courses. They are held twice a year or something; the last one was last week. |

Ya I went to that last semester. I found that they mostly talked about what the course was about and kinda glossed over how much/what kind of work the course has. That's why I was hoping for the opinion of a student who had taken the course rather than the opinion of the prof that taught it. |

If you take a look at the course webpages and check out old/current assignments, you could approximate the intensity of the course from there.
It goes something like
RTOS > Compilers > Graphics > everything else. |
Tony's programming blog. DWITE - a programming contest. |
