I was wondering first of all where can I see the topics of the courses offered. There's just a brief description on the courses but I wanna see all of the topics.

And BTW, How are your universities? (student life, workload, classmates, etc) Smile Canada

I'm mostly familiar with UWaterloo; details to topics covered are sometimes determined by a prof, and could vary from term to term. A particular course's website would likely be the best place to see what the current term is like.

If the course websites are private (behind some authentication wall, such as apparently is the case with U Alberta), then you'd need to find some student with access to such.

I was wondering also (I'm sure this applies to most universities) if some courses are only offered in either Fall or the Winter term.. . is this true?

I find this very confusing since I need to know if a course will be offered in Fall 2011 and there's no way of knowing it :/

Yes. Waterloo's calendar says things like "typically available in [list of terms]". Other Universities might not make as much information available to their students.
