As we all know, older laptops that have been well used, have the certain problem where the hinge slowly develops a *free rocking* area. Now on my laptop there is about a 1cm free rocking zone and its really pissing me off. Any ideas for a fix? |

Tighten them screws. My MBP started doing that. Wasn't hard to fix. |

Depends on your laptop model.
You may want to try lubricating it. A very liquid lubricant (think oil, not wax) should stiffen things up nicely. Don't worry about spilling on the boards, they're designed to be resistant to it. |

WD-40 is not a lubricant. |

If you spray your boards with WD-40, it'll repel water so you can swim with your laptop. |

You do realize that the hinge that allows the iMac display to tilt will probably wear out in the same fashion as the laptop hinge XP? (though probably not as soon) |
