Help!!!

Hey everyone!... I need some help. I had previously had linux installed on my computer on a seperate partition from my windows. With this came an option on startup if you wanted to boot windows or linux. In an interest of space, and because no one has used linux in my house in a decade I decided to wipe it to make room for my daughter to have more space on the computer. I'm not sure exactly what I did but i ended up deleting the partitions that had linux in partition magic. Now I am stuck and can't boot windows, I get a Grub error 22. If anyone could direct me towards getting the computer to boot straight to windows (becuase I've tried everthing and can't figure it out) or maybe even point me towards the forum where I could find it? All help would be greatly appreciated,

The GRUB bootloader has probably supplanted the Windows one on the Master Boot Record (MBR). One simple, if hackish, solution is the following:

1. Install a Linux distro over the free space on the system, using as little as possible. Smallest partitions you can fit it into (bet on about 2-3GB, depending on distro).
2. Using gparted, resize the Windows partition to use the remaining space.
3. Install the startupmanager package (sudo apt-get install startupmanager). You can then run this program (through System->Administration in Ubuntu) to modify boot settings. Set the default operating system to your windows install and set the timeout in seconds to be 0.

in chat, a fellow member helped me out.. they said to use the windows cd, go into recovery console and type in fixmbr, however, the recovery console asks for a administrator password and I can't seem to remember putting one in, or if I did, I have no clue what it is. Is there any way around this or do I simply have to reinstall windows :S

okay everyone issue has been resolved. Ony one problem remains... I had uploaded a new os and then deleted it on another partition. Now whenever I restart the computer it asks me which I want to start, the original one, or the new non existant one. How do I avoid the boot screen all together and make it just go straight to the logon screen. Or alternatively, how do i enable it to see that one of the os's trully doesn't exist

reset your MBR. You can do it from the windows recovery disk or from a linux liveCD.
