I know about it. I graduated from Control Engineering Technology (college) back in 2003. In my opinion, instrumentation and controls is very interesting work, especially if you want to get your hands a little dirty from time to time (well, more than just sitting at a keyboard anyway). Unfortunately I haven't done much in the way of 'real' controls work since my co-op terms (where I did electrical engineering/design, and PLC programming). But I've found my passion in software development, and am going back to university this fall (Ryerson) for CS. The job market for CS grads will almost certainly be better for the foreseeable future than it will for Controls folks, mainly because most controls/instrumentation jobs are for in support of the manufacturing industry - which is generally not in great shape. But do whatever makes you happy.

Hey Guys,
I know this isn't directly related to CompSci but I'm just curious if anyone has taken Instrumentation / Control Engineering in College or knows anything about it?
