Just wondering if anyone knows of any decent (read cheap) electronic component retailers, preferably in the southwest GTA region, or online with cheap delivery.

I know, I know, Google and whatnot, just wondering if anyone has had any experience before I go dgging.

I can't remember the names but there are some really cheap ones in Mississauga somewhere around dundas or dixie or something?? I'll try and ask people I know when I get the chance... For now you could just look into the stores around those areas, there's ALOT of small electronic stores in one part of Mississauga...

I need low-level components like potentiometers and resistors, not computer parts -- I'm making a custom fan controller that suits my needs.

Tomorrow I'll ask my computer engineering teacher where he gets his, though they may only be available in bulk.

Ok thanks. I know mine used Abra, I'd prefer something closer though, with cheap shipping.

Try DealExtreme (http://dealextreme.com/). They are based on Hong Kong but have free shipping on most if not all items. I've used them before and never had any problems. They have a lot of low level components like the stuff you're looking for.

Yeah, I'd go with DealExtreme. I've also been using them for a while and everything seems to come fast (and without shipping).

Huh, I thought DealExtreme was a little-known secret of mine. I just got an RC model helicopter and five lasers for $70 (that includes shipping and tax).

Three cheers for slave labour.
