PostPosted: Tue Dec 16, 2003 8:18 pm   Post subject: Strategy Games

I've been looking for a good strategy game for a while, but alas, I've found very few that I like. Starcraft and Warzone 2100 are my two favourites in the real-time department, but I've yet to find any other games that I can sink my teeth into. I played Age of Empires/Mythologies, I thought that they were okay, but again I found them lacking in some way. I also liked Soldiers of Anarchy, but it was way too hard to beat. Also, in turn based strategy, I loved Age of Magic (I & II) and Master of Magic (woah, almost 10 years old...).

But anyway, anyone have any good strategy games that they can reccommend?

you played master of magic? wow, that is soooooo old, well if you like that, then try the Heroes series. preferablly Heroes III or Heroes IV, they are really good, one of the better turn base strategy games I have played.

I'd say starcraft is by far the absolute best, but try homeworld (any of them) they're really good...once you get used to the controlls.....metal fatigue maybe, I like startrek armada, but I'm a bit of trekkie so I dont know how you would like it. Hero's of might and magic III is good, but its old...and thats all I can think of right now

starcraft
homeworld
metal fatigue
startrek armada
heros of might and magic III

o_o Wow... lots of Mustangs in here! ^^

Well, this is probably not what you're looking for, but if you want a REAL strategy that you can delve into for a lifetime, try Go. (Wei'qi in Chinese, Baduk in Korean, Igo in Japanese), the oldest known game without significant alteration to it's rules. It's a significant part of chinese culture too. If you want to learn how to play, check out kgs.kiseido.com --I'll also teach you during juniorlunch in room 250 (Massey), if you're interested, since I play Go there daily. It's really an amazing game to be caught up in, and if it's deep strategy that you want, you'll never find a more involving game.

Or you can play Starcraft. Sad Whatever Laughing

martin, andy was saying Mr.McKenzie would only let us play SC if you have an original copy of Starcraft, burnt copies will lead to some trouble....
