I dunno, I wired up a LED light to the serial port on my computer, and made a program that

A. shows my avatar image
B. opens the serial port (making the led light go on)

So, when ever someone views a post by me....I know.

...

For those interested, I'm working on a robotics type project, that will be web controlled. (You can move it around via the web)
I'm going to prototype it on a breadboard using just led's at first, but then add motors, so it acctually moves. and then a webcam.
I'm planning on using the AT90S2313 microcontrollers.
Anyone know any electronics shops that might carry these? in the
St.catharines, toronto area.
I know one store downtown toronto but I want to know if theres others anywhere.

octopi is watching you. (ack! Razz )

so it isn't just when someone reads one of your posts that makes the light blink, right? wouldn't it blink whenever someone views your avatar? so couldn't someone write a program that links to your avatar and repeatedly views that avatar, causing your light to blink alot?

anyways, what you're saying sounds very interesting... would anybody be able to control the robot from the web? and for whatever purpose whether it be good/evil?

try to see if there's a place called active electronics in your area... they carry all sorts of little microcontrollers and stuff
