Creating your own Joy Camera :)

In this short thread, I will teach you how to make a joy Camera in 8-22 min.
The end product has been verified by an electrician, and will cause to harm to user.
I myself have made one, and have shocked a bunch of friends who can take a joke with it.
Leave comments/questions below.


Materials required:

- 1 Disposable Camera
- 1 Solder pen or solder gun
- 1 18-24AWG 3-6 inch wire.
- 1 12 inch of solder wire.
- 1 Wire stripper
- 1 Drill
- 1 1.2-1.5V battery (AA)
- 1 small bottle of super glue

Optional materials:

- 1 Slot screw driver
- rubber gloves

Step 1 [1-3 min]:

Take your new, disposable camera, and take the frame off.
Most likly to do this, you will need a slot screw driver to pry the
case off the camera.

Step 2 [30 sec]:

Remove the film from the camera, an dispose of it.

Step 3 [1 min]:

Plug in your solder pen or gun, and let it heat up. While the
solder pen is heating up, strip 1 cm of insulation of your wire
from each end.

Step 4 [1-10 min]:

***CRUCIAL STEP***
This is the real big thing, if you want to make a joy camera,
you have to know how others will feel when they are
shocked, so I HIGHLY suggest that you charge the flash,
unitl the light is glowing, then Look for a black cylinder near
the flash. This black cylinder, is the capacitor, and if you read
the writing on it, it should tell you how many volts it holds.
I want you to touch the top of the capacitor to discharge it.
It will give you a quick shock, and it will hurt, but it wont
injure you in any way. I suggest just getting it over an done
with.

Step 5 [1 min]:

Solder your wire to the top of the capacitor

Step 6 [1-3 min]:

With a very small bit, drill a hole through the button used to
shot pictures. Be very careful and neat. TAKE YOUR TIME!!

Step 7 [1 min]:

Carefully insert the wire through the hole you had made
(refer to step 6) Then carefully super glue the wire to the
button. make sure the wire is level with the button so it is
not noticed.

Step 8 [1-3 min]:

put the case back on the disposable camera (make sure
the battery is still in the camera and the wire is hiden)

Step 9:

Test the joy camera. Ask people to take your picture
with one of your friends ect.

Well, it does look like it's moved, but not all comments are posted.

You can use the electricity from the flash as an effective taser. So your joy camera will double as a taser. (Useful when people hate you for your joy camera.)

I believe it was becuase they took them down. Any type of electrical shock could kill someone, more so if it was near the heart.

no. USEC U Really need to take electrical major and learn a bit about electricity lol I could shock my self a bunch of time in the chest by the heart as many times I want but There are a couple of problems:

1: The uF rating is too low in camera's to deliver a fatal shock.

2: The camera takes a good 5 seconds to recharge the capacitor. Thus you wont have the will power to even shock your self again.

3: just to prove to you that its fine I shock my self in the chest. (I also did it to prove I do have the willpower to do it)

4: not a problem, but anyways... Next time you post and you still think the shock can harm you, READ ABOUT IT FIRST!!!... I Went to the best electrician (25 years of experience as of this year) I know and read about capacitors in books and online. I didnt just randomly put this togethor, I knew What to do before I even had the camera :/ Sorry lol, but I CLEARLY note at the top that this is verified with an electrician.

Any More Questions? Like if you have tried this and its not working or you have done this too, or and helpfull hints/ comment, Post away. There are alot of things you can do with this.

If anything, it will act as one heck of a waking-up device. It will hurt alot but not kill. Kind of like one of those hand buzzers
