They are soldiers
Fighting a fight of survival
The battlefields are their homes
Blasted apart by no weapon
They are at war, with things they built
The dead aren't unknown
The blood of children, brothers, mothers
Is more accessible then water
Bodies litter the streets where children once played
They are soldiers

Shed a tear O'Earth
Feel the horror, the terror
See the pain in their haunted eyes
Hear their desperate pleas!
See the destruction
Help you mighty ones!
How the lowly need your help!

Haiti, we are here

What is your opinion on the whole Haiti thing? My own mother thinks that it's wrong to invite them to Canada.
I think that we should offer them help (in forms of food, medicine, shelter, etc) until they can rebuild their ruined country.
Until then, we should keep offering them help.

One thing I DON'T want, however, is every other ****ing person in other countries coming over here and taking jobs that Canadiens should have taken.

Now try and make a slideshow and record your voice and music for it...
AND PEOPLE, STOP FREAKING OUT ABOUT HAITI.
I know that it was a catastrophy, but already the world is helping out, so stop and let them do their jobs.

Well then stop freaking out at people freaking out about Haiti.

@qmanjr:
Or we could just let everyone leave Haiti and start an apocalypse theme park.
No offense, but if the foreigners have more credentials than you do, then it's your own fault.

I like how during the whole News media wave, I kept hearing how money was the best option. In the back of my mind (a highly internet based one), my conscience is screaming scam. Though that's just a little paranoia. Though it makes sense, seeing as transporting food etc would cost money (at the governments expense no doubt). It also would allow them to mass produce and package the items easier.

But the infrastructure is out, along with the factories, farms etc. They need aid until they can supply food etc for themselves/we get tired and another disaster strikes somewhere.

Although it may seem this way, this attitude typically leads to poverty increase. Not everybody in a country has good credentials, but when you then add another huge chunk of people to the list the demand for jobs increase without the balance of there being jobs improved. What we're then left with is even those with some credentials can't even get a job: the unemployed increases and also as a result the credentials needed (if an employer has so many people to choose from, they are going to choose the best available).

The economy is a very hard thing to balance (not saying it's perfect now), and when you add so many new numbers to the mix it can only get worse.
The only time I'd think this would be the ideal solution is if we had more jobs than unemployed (something I've never seen in this lifetime).

Indeed. *Puts on a monacle* We have to look at the social-economic properties of an area before we can truely affect it in a positive manner. *Sips tea*

No, it's too depressing. Do something lighter, like pink fluffly bunnies or something. (Joking, it's very good)
