I was pretty annoyed when I found out that winning the 1st place in the CHEM 13 News exam (also run by Waterloo) did not qualify me for one of the research assistantships offered (details here), because I was in Grade 11 at the time.
Is there a similar policy with the Euclid contest, that they only look at the score from the year in which the student applies? Because I did well on a fluke last year, and doubt that I can do so again this year (when there will probably be a hard geometry problem to make up for the lack of one on the COMC)... |

They'll take both scores into account, but if you do poorly in the later one, it doesn't look good. |

How important is the COMC mark for scholarships? I came to the exam pretty late so I don't think i did too well.... |
