[RPG] Fantastic Story

Since this will be my officially my last day of Turing, I thought I would present one of my games to show my progress through 3 months of programming with Turing.

In Fantastic Story, the player will defend the ?Fantastic World? from different monsters while developing its character?s skills and abilities, as in a typical RPG (Role-Playing Game).

One starts out in the game as a beginner. The user will learn to build their skills and will eventually take on a path of a warrior. The user will encounter and kill numerous monsters. In so doing, they will earn experience points which they?ll need to accumulate in order to advance in the game. Dead monsters will give gold. Gold is the currency used in the game which can be acquired by killing monsters.

Apart from hunting down monsters, the game is made even more exciting by adding new features. A player advances in the game by leveling up.

Most of the images are property of Wizet and were extracted from their ?WZ? archives. I do not take any credit for Wizet's creativity and neither should you.

HOW TO PLAY

When you are at starting screen you will be asked to load an account or save an account. When you have selected on which you'd like to perform you will be brought to your bedroom. The bedroom is linked to the town which can be found by hitting the "UP ARROW" on any yellow arrows on various doors. You are able to fight monsters by clicking on your computer in the right side of your room. From there everything gets easier.

CONTROLS

• LEFT KEY - Walk left (also used to select windows in character buildup mode)
  
• RIGHT KEY - Walk right (also used to select windows in character buildup mode)
  
• UP KEY - Teleports (must be within reach of a yellow arrow)
  
• DOWN KEY - Crouch (allowed only in free roam)
  
• CONTROL KEY - Normal attack
  
• SHIFT KEY - Special attack (consume mana points)
  
• INSERT KEY - Recovers lost Mana Points for a fee
  
• DELETE KEY - Recovers lost Health Points for a fee
  
• Q KEY - Leaves a battle at anytime
  
• MOUSE - Used to select objects
  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All problems are known and will probably be fixed eventually?
The code will not be release, it is far too advanced to be released.

Mod edit: Just replaced the [ table ] tags with the [ list ] tag as the old tags were breaking the page for some reason.

you did a pretty good job on his... although there isnt much to do. The fighting your chosen monster gets boring after a little while lol
and is there any point to that girl whos standing there inside the building?

Okay, so I can go to the playground and room with statue and girl. That's it other than the character building screen. Where do I go?

except one thing....if you increase your stats too much, or your level over like 80 the game crashes.

( i put play dough on my keyboard and had breakfast...came back i was ber lv 80 and the game crashed, and i also tried making my strength going over 250...it didn't like it.)

Ah cool, thanks man. I musta missed that in the instructions somehow.

I laughed pretty good at the play dough. Start > Run > osk > Click CTRL.

Overall its nicely put together, and depending on how you did it, it could become massive. This fantastic story needs a plot...or at least a challenge though. Otherwise the game never ends.

I opened up OnSceenKeyboard and held down CTRL and left it. Every once and awhile I came back and upped the stats...When it got to round lvl 150...I ended it. No problems, even with strength of 350 or so.

Just so you guys knew, that girl in the map on the very left room... She was going to be used to send you into a waiting room where you can battle a friend.

why do you have the money in the game if you can't buy anything?

The money is needed to use potions. Sadly, I never got around to setting the money system up. I am able to rewrite the game to run on approx 500 lines of code but, I have moved on to working with C++ more.

if you want i can work on the game, add the money system, maybe a way to actually lose or something lol and fighting a friend
