If installing msttcorefonts doesn't work then try Opera and see if that's better. IMO, Opera's better on Linux anyways.
I installed Opera today for the first time in at least a few years on Linux to fix a UserScript, and the interface was pretty bad-- I suspect that was just because I don't use KDE, so I haven't done any QT configuration though.
