PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 3:45 pm   Post subject: Headphone Recomendations

Hey,
I've decided that a speaker system is a little too unconvenient for me, so I want to get myself a pair of headphones. However, these are "workout" headphones: to be used while running or rowing. As such, the main quality I'm looking for is that they'll never fall out of my ears (even while rowing/running). Cordless would be nice, but I'm looking for something cheap.

Got any suggestions?

Get a pair with over-ear clips. They are just like earbuds, but have 'hooks' that go over your ears just like a pair of glasses.

I would recommend a pair of skullcandy in-ear buds. Nike makes some nice sports headphones too

I'd recommend IEMs for your need. You should consider the Denon C-351 (which I own & love) and the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3. If you'd prefer "headphones," look into the Koss KSC 75 or Sennheiser PX 100. Those are both open headphones though; no isolation and others can hear your music.

Unless of course you want them to sound good. [edit] To the skullcandies, idk anything about the quality of the Nikes, but I can't imagine they're very good.

yes, but he said he's looking for a pair of workout headphones, so sound quality is not the most important criteria, although it is still important. I have a pair of Nike sport headphones, they're pretty good, retailed for around 45 dollars I think, it was a while back.

I would definitly not get skullcandies for workout headphones! Why? Because when the cable is bumbed even slightly it causes a very annoying sound in your ears. This is magnified even more so when you are moving quickly. Not to mention they have preety bad sound quality compared to some other earbuds I have tried.

I would reccomend the JVC marshmallow earbuds. They have fantstic sound quality and use a spongy bud rather than a rubber one like the skullycandies.

Just my $0.02.

Oh and one more thing. The JVC's are usually ~$40, so you have to be willing to pay a bit more.

I just assumed that sound quality important, as I got the impression they were being used to listen to music.

ty zero-impact, that looks like what I need. Where do you think I could get some?

@ecookman : I don't care about noise-cancelling headphones, I've already got a pair of headphones for casual uses.

@DtY : Ha ha. It's true that sound quality is important, but for a pair of workout headphones, the quality does not need to be stellar.

I love Skyllcandy headphones and all (my casual ones are a pair of Hesh Skullcandy headphones), but I heard that their buds aren't good for workout headphones.
