anybody know if there exists any open source php script or any script really that can run on a server that can download and seed torrents?
i heard of it b4 but i cant find anything to do w/ it.
i tried looking up the protocol standard online but none give any useful info.

what kind of files are you looking to torrent?
if they're just regular files, why not put them up on an ftp server, since it seems you already have a server to run PHP on, its probably easier to use FTP rather than torrents, if you'll be the only one seeding.

Some clients, such as Transmission come with a Web Interface. It will essentially run it's own web service at a dedicated port, and you can interact with the client through your browser.

rtorrent with wtorrent frontend would be better, as you wouldn't need to run a gui.
