|

How much do grade 11 marks matter for admission decisions? Is it just for early admissions? Or if another student has similar marks in grade 12 but superior grade 11 marks would he/she get the offer?
Assuming things like supplementary application forms and AIFs are omitted...how would these marks do me for Waterloo, Ryerson, and U of T Scarborough? I have learned that admission cut offs don't really mean much...
edit: I'm aware of my horrible advanced functions mark, I'm getting 94% in calc and will probably end with an 85 or so, that 76 will be my lowest mark
yh I didn't apply myself in grade 11 aha |

I was allways told that grade 11 marks where mostly for early admissions and in the case where you are close to the cut off with your grade 12 marks.
However universitys do get both the grade 11 and 12 marks and it is totaly up to them how they use them and witch grade 11 clases they count and how many.
P.S. It's nice that your high school has your grades on line (unless that is the new uni application interface), most don't put the effort into there website or online services. |

I thought grade 11 marks were like grade 9 or 10 then can see them but don't really matter.
Can they only see grade 11 and grade 12? |

ENG4U English
SBI4U Biology
MHF4U Advanced Functions
MCV4U Calculus and Vectors
+ 3M courses including ICS4M comp sci. Will only be using that and Environmental Management CGR4M for my top 6
So yea, you need 3 4U courses for Waterloo plus ICS4M or one other U course, I have that (bio) AND ICS4M so I have the pre reqs lol |

universities are given full access to your grade 11 and grade 12 marks, but they cannot see your grade 9 or 10 marks at all... i don't remember exactly where i read that but i think it only started in the last 10-15 years... |

also, for each school theres a date each semester before which any courses you drop WILL NOT be shown in information sent to universities, and any courses dropped after that day have to be sent... full disclosures stufff.... just thought i'd add this since i've noticed theres some gr 10 and 11's here that might benefit from knowing this... |

anyone have an idea what a good average would be if one was hopeful of getting early acceptance to Waterloo? I'm sure high scores on the CCC and the Euclid and Open math contests helps too |

when you're in gr 12, you can start applying around dec/jan I believe,
then getting early acceptance as early as feb
from what i've seen from others, you'll need around 90's in gr 11 & 12 |
