o.k i am sure you are all well aware by now of the new windows 7.......what the f right.....



Microsoft sells us a $500 piece of crap OS and just to make it reasonable...we will call it vista and make it look cool (aka full of flaws and a waste of money) and expect you all to use it for about hmmm 1 year...but we aren't going to tell you that it is short lived.


ALL HAIL 2009, by now most people have just bought Vista....but wait...

Are you complaining that Microsoft is releasing a "fix" for Vista, and would have preferred for them to stop all of their development instead?

But... you know that there's a new OS release every couple of years (ideally; Vista's schedule was horribly delayed), and Windows 7 was been announced quite some time ago (2007).

Alternatively you could go for a less expensive system and buy a Mac. Seriously. OSX (full-feature OS) retails for $130. As oppose to $200 for an *upgrade*, that I will assume is a flavour below Vista Ultimate.

Buying Ultimate is a waste of money. I'm quite happy with Home Premium, and I will not go back to XP. SP1 has addressed most of my gripes, and those were present due to Microsoft's inability to take criticism or properly test their product, but everyone makes mistakes.

I hope they've learned from Vista and will move on with Windows 7 correctly. First, I'll find someone who has it, and fiddle with it. If I like what I see, then they can enjoy my cash. I'm staying cautiously only because I bought Vista for my laptop when it was early, and I'll never forget "upgrading to XP."

If Microsoft gets this right, I'm willing to give them $200 for a Home Premium-esque edition, assuming it exists.

and if you look at W7 and Vista.... not much of a difference besides some new features and uses less computing power

Microsoft has been releasing new versions of there OS about every 3 years for some time now, so i am some what suprised by peoleop being so upset about them coming out with a new version.

There was no outrage (or at least none that i rember) when windows 98 was relased about 3 years after windows 95.

Honestly if you decied to use a versioned operating system that is closed source and sold by a for profit company what do you excpet to happen? MS needs to make money and there business plan for it has been making a new OS every 3 to 5 years for a long time and other software companys do the exctat same thing. Even apple makes new versions of there operating system and expectes users to pay to upgrade to the new version (tho it may be cheaper).

If you are realy upset about it stop giving Microsfot money and switch to a free OS or at the very least just don't upgrade. MS will keep suporting vista for some time to come (they still support xp) and keep issuing patches and bug fixes.

How to open ANY app in a mac, spotlight, its gorgeous. Yes, you may have to play around with a new OS heaven forbid, it trys to make life easier and might need your part to go: "umm apple smart-ass dude, might showing me a few things". Now was that so amazingly hard? I pray not.

I was referring to the retail version. Betas skew my opinion in the bad direction, unless they really blow me away (see: Badaboomit.com).

They have the added advantage of a 30% profit margin on their hardware ~.~

About the topic, I see no reason about being upset. You've known Vista has had a horrible set of reviews so why buy it now? XP is still strong, and 7 should make up for where Vista failed. Hopefully.
