I have an almost 300 page word document. Is it possible to use word to extract a range of pages from the document and save them into another word document under another name?
Oh, by the way I'm using word 2007. |

Copy and paste, ctrl+c and ctrl+v. Why doesn't that meet your needs? |

Some of the formatting doesn't get copied. Headers, footers, some numbering.
Also, I didn't write the document so I want to make it so the original author remains the same.

you can print a range of pages to PDF
If it must remain an editable Word format, then copy the entire document, then cut unnecessary pages out. |
