So earlier today I went on a guided tour of Waterloo's CE program, and I really enjoyed it. The campus seemed like somewhere I'd enjoy spending the next few years of my life, but I did have a question about the dorms.

On our guide, I did ask about the dorms, and he did tell us a little about the UWP. I'm thinking the UWP would be the best place, mostly due to it's close proximity to the engineering section of the campus, and another post I read said that the 'suite' rooms are good. But I haven't really heard much about the other dorms. Is there any I'd want to avoid? And also, is the distance from one side of the campus to the other going to be a pain in the ass for someone like me that tends to wake up late?

UWP are all suite style dorms. If you are going into Engineering, UWP is the place to be at. I liked living there, and proximity to lecture halls (and UW Plaza (if you go out for food)) was very nice.

MKV is also considered to be good, more so in the summer (I hear it's one of the few places that's actually air conditioned), but it's on the opposite end of campus (not the furthest though).

I think that if you're in engineering, you can only be in UWP and V1 (for first year anyway with 4-stream). V1 is traditional style the only bad thing is the caf food after a while. lol.

I ate at V1 once. That was enough to convince me never to eat there again.

I've spent a term eating there ... and another term soon.
Not looking forward to going back to school, simply because of that!

V1 was good for me. I just wish I had known about the Grill before I spent 3 months starving on the weekends since I didn't like the cafe food.
