Hey guys :
I'm currently a grade 12 Chinese student and I am studying in China. But I study British Columbia courses.
I'd like to study computer science in U of T and UBC next year. Do anyone know what is the general cutoff for these two schools for CS?????????????????????????
I haven't got grade 12 marks, but my grade 11 final average mark is 83, Phy is 96, Math is 96, Chem is 87, SS is 69, Eng is 65. For grade 12 I believe my average mark will be around 86, and Phy, Cal, Math would all above 95.
Is there any chances for me to get in CS of U of T or UBC??????????
Thanks every warm-hearted people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Most entrance requirements for UBC are rather low, really. Pretty much just a B in everything. Make sure you've got Chem 11. With those marks, you're pretty much guaranteed to get in. Oh, and piece of advice, the courses at the UBC-Okanagan campus are harder than the courses at the UBC-Vancouver campus. |

UBC has a pretty good CS program. The classes are small, the teachers are talented, the campus is improving every day. We want more CS students! |

U of T's cutoff isn't that high either. They're going to be looking at the Math mark more than anything. Plus, you've got three campuses to try at. |

Thanks for people above!
In addition, anyone know which one is more important, grade 11 marks or grade 12 marks? |

In terms of university acceptance, grade 12 by far. In terms of scholarships, grade 12, but grade 11 plays a role in better scholarships. In terms of a feeling of achievement, neither |

I got accepted based on just my grade 11 marks (87.5 avg I believe). All I had to do was maintain a 75 avg in gr 12 to keep my entrance (of course I did better to get scholarships). This was at Waterloo for CS. If you don't get early acceptance then grade 12 marks are more important.
For comp sci, it is important to have high math and CS marks. It is fine if you have a "just okay" English mark it'll be fine. With high 90s, you're pretty much guaranteed to get in anywhere. |

On the contrary, one is better off with good grades in English, over CS. At least in respect to getting in. Heck, a CS isn't even required to apply. |
