Yes. But I claim Waterloo as my alma mater. It was a co-op posting to NDHQ back in 1982 that moved me here.
If you're into hangin' with a herd of nerds, I'm putting on a REBOL talk at the Ottawa Canada Linux User Group monthly meeting on Tuesday Aug 5 (7pm). Deets at http://oclug.on.ca The meetings are at Algonquin, Woodroffe campus. I'll be offering to put on an OpenCOBOL talk and then one for Python's docutils ReStructuredText. So (unless I suck) I should be there for the Sept and Oct meetings too.
Cheers |

Too far for a drive; anyone know of a cheap way to get there (and back) from Toronto? ViaRail?

Via Rail? lmfao. Definitely not.
Greyhound is probably your best bet, maybe even plane, if you can find a cheap flight.
Kinda unrelated from the topic, but I'm currently in Manitoba for two weeks with a friend, and the prices for those three were as follows (round trip, from Hanover ON)
Greyhound: 450$
Plane: 550$
Via Rail: $1200
I ended up taking the plane because it shove off many (,many) hours of travel time. |

Wusses. Driving Ottawa/Waterloo is easy. 6 hours tops, and except for annoying traffic in Toronto an easy drive.
Via is actually pretty cheap from Waterloo to Ottawa too - though waiting in Toronto sucks.
Greyhound will get you beheaded, and flying from Waterloo is silly - since you really just end up flying from Toronto. |

That may happen on a Greyhound, but not on a CoachCanada bus!
I'll be back in Kingston in September, which is close to Ottawa, if I weren't so lazy, I'd consider going to Ottawa for a meetup |
